Description
Kurt Cobain was an icon and a voice of a generation whether he wanted to be or not. His band, Nirvana, changed the whole music scene of the 1990's and influenced many of the bands of today. Nirvana's music was distinctive with a punk edge but a melodic pop chorus. Some say it was similar to The Pixies which happened to be one of the influences of the band.
Sadly it all came to a halt in early April of 1994, when Kurt Cobain was found dead from a gunshot wound above the garage of his Seattle home. He joined the 27 club of great musicians that have passed on way too soon. In this drawing I tried to capture the grunginess and wistfulness of a troubled soul that really didn't want to in fact be that "voice of a generation"
This drawing was done digitally on an iPad using the app ProCreate. It would look great printed on a basic fine art paper and matted and framed simply. It would make the perfect gift for any Nirvana music fan.
